Fall in the Smoky Mountains is one of the most beautiful times of year. This is when the air begins to cool off a little and visitors from all across the country come to witness the Smoky Mountains fall foliage transform from deep greens to vibrant shades of red, yellow and orange.

Every year Gatlinburg, Tennessee hosts a very special event on November 11 to honor our Nation’s Veterans in a fitting and appropriate manner. The title “Gatlinburg Veterans Day Celebration” is an accurate description of the event in that the service and sacrifices made by our veterans.

3. Winter Magic Kickoff and Chili Cookoff

Gatlinburg Chili Cookoff and Winter Magic Kickoff on Wednesday, November 9 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the Parkway in downtown Gatlinburg. City dignitaries will signify the start of Gatlinburg Winter Magic with a ceremonial lighting of more than 3 million lights throughout the city while thousands sample from more than 25 vendors from area restaurants and businesses.

Hundreds of thousands of visitors will flock to Gatlinburg during the 2016 Smoky Mountain Winterfest to see the lights and experience all that Winter Magic has to offer.

5. Snow Tubing at Ober Gatlinburg

6. Celebrate Thanksgiving in Gatlinburg
