by Millie

No vacation in the Smoky Mountains is complete without at least one breakfast in Gatlinburg. With pancake houses around every corner, our city may just be the breakfast capital of the United States! To help you plan the most important meal of the day, Alpine Mountain Chalets has put together a guide to finding the best breakfast in Gatlinburg. You can’t go wrong when you start your morning at these five restaurants:

1. Crockett’s Breakfast Camp

Crockett’s Breakfast Camp offers all of your favorite breakfast foods in a fun mountain lodge atmosphere. This popular restaurant is famous for its griddle cakes, which are like pancakes, but extra thick and fluffy.  If you choose to dine at Crockett’s Breakfast Camp, we suggest coming early or during off hours (because there can be a long wait) and arriving with a hearty appetite (because the portions are huge)!

2. Pancake Pantry

The Pancake Pantry is Gatlinburg’s most historic and revered breakfast place. In fact, the Pancake Pantry was the first pancake house in the entire state of Tennessee! This restaurant has had such longevity because its hotcakes are truly outstanding. All of their pancakes are made from scratch with real butter and served with fresh whipped cream. Please note that the Pancake Pantry is a cash-only business.
