When I think of adult activities in Gatlinburg, all the Moonshine Distilleries come to mind! Today, you can tour and taste the history and culture of the mountains at any one of the four distilleries in Gatlinburg. Traditional family recipes and new flavors twist to make it easy to choose a favorite. Ole Smoky Moonshine invites guests to the area to come down for a free tour and sample various types of corn-based spirits. Of course, you must be at least 21 to receive a free sample. The moonshine experience is definitely fun for adults to do in Gatlinburg!

Ride the Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway to get a bird’s-eye view of the mountains. This is one of the most incredible things you can do in Gatlinburg, specifically for adults. The highest point off the ground during the Tram ride is about 300 feet! Children can ride this attraction; however, this is a better experience for couples or even as a solo experience. Departing regularly from downtown Gatlinburg, this cable car will take you on a breathtaking 2.1-mile ride up to the Amusement Park & Ski Area.

Above all, you have to drive the Roaring Fork Motor Trail! The Roaring Fork Motor Trail is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The trail is a 6-mile loop that winds through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Along the way, visitors can enjoy stunning scenery, including waterfalls, mountain streams, and old-growth forests. The trail is also home to wildlife, including black bears, white-tailed deer, and wild turkeys. The Roaring Fork Motor Trail is easy to access from Gatlinburg and is open year-round.

One of my favorite activities I love to do in Gatlinburg is going Horseback riding in the Smokies! Nothing compares to the stunning views of the mountains on the back of a beautiful horse. Again this is a great experience to do with a significant other or in a group setting. Experiencing awe-inspiring scenery, see roaming wildlife, and feel at peace in the outdoors is an experience you won’t forget. We recommend Five Oaks Riding Stables; they have over 27 years of experience, and the tours are guided, which is complete peace of mind!

As adults, we love a wine moment – or at least I do! If you’re like me, then I highly recommend going to Mills Bridge Winery. It’s lovely to sit on the river deck and overlook the bank. They have a selection of wines, spirits, and ciders to try! There is also a “Wine Trail” with five different stops, which is a cute way to sample local drinks in a fun way. My friends and I frequent the Wine Trail because it’s always a memorable experience!

Are you looking for a thrilling adventure? I know you are! You have to check out Outdoor Gravity Park. Zorbing is something you can’t experience just anywhere, but you can in Pigeon Forge – and WE LOVE IT! Outdoor Gravity Park is the only zorbing park in the USA. Just ADD 10 gallons of water and up to 3 people; you slip and slide down the hill with three different tracks to choose from. The best part is that you can “Zorb” any season, all year round. All I have to say is that it is so much fun and it’s one of the most unique attractions that Pigeon Forge has to offer.

Firstly, I’m not going to beg you – but if you’re looking for a fun time – I highly recommend going on the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster! This coaster is the longest downhill track in the United States, with over 1 mile of track and the ORIGINAL ALPINE COASTER in the Smokies! The riders control the velocity (up to 27 mph), which gives them a unique hands-on experience! I’ve been to this attraction numerous times, and each time I go, I always have a blast (as an adult)!

Okay, I will mention it again because Pigeon Forge has distilleries, too – you should go to Tennessee Shine Company. In addition, to being located in Gatlinburg, there is a location in Pigeon Forge. Try the family recipes of Moonshine and Whiskey, and you’ll be blown away – like literally. These beverages aren’t for the light-hearted; they pack a punch! One of the most incredible features here is that you can try it before you buy it – just make sure you tip!
