You may be wondering “Where is Gatlinburg?” Many people combine the entire area of Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg all together, but Gatlinburg is actually it’s own destination right next to the national park.

Foothills to the Smoky Mountains: Sevierville, Tennessee

Gatlinburg is located in Sevier County in East Tennessee. A vast majority of the visitors coming to the Smoky Mountain area will pass through Sevierville and Pigeon Forge before reaching Gatlinburg. Here’s some step-by-step details so you know exactly where to find Gatlinburg.

Gatlinburg’s Nextdoor Neighbor: Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

 

Before getting to Gatlinburg you will pass through Pigeon Forge. Pigeon Forge is 7 miles from Sevierville, and 7 miles to Gatlinburg. Pigeon Forge connects to Gatlinburg via US 441 Southbound. Locals refer to this highway as the ‘Spur.’ The spur travels directly through part of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

Welcome to Gatlinburg! Gatlinburg is located right next to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and is dwarfed by the surrounding mountains. The middle of town is marked by the Space Needle.
